Kings rebirth is a reunion

The ongoing attempts to make Sleep Train Arena comfortable for the next three years, or however long it takes to complete the downtown arena project, has brought one-time adversaries together: Rann Haight, who designed Arco I and was the architect of Arco II, and more recently worked with the local group that pushed (unsuccessfully) for a complete renovation of the current building, was approached by the new regime and asked to help with the current upgrades.

Haight, who lives in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, took the job and, within about 90 days, oversaw transformation of the hallway leading to the media lounge, owners' suites and family room, and partial relocation of the visitors locker room.

"I really appreciated the opportunity," Haight said before tipoff. "Sacramento is very lucky to have new owners (led by Vivek Ranadive) willing to invest whatever it takes for the next three-four years."
