Malone shakes up starters for second preseason game

LAS VEGAS -- Kings coach Michael Malone is going with a very different look to start tonight's preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette will start at guard. The starting forwards will be Travis Outlaw and Patrick Patterson with DeMarcus Cousins starting at center.

Cousins and Thomas are the only players that started Monday at Golden State.

Malone said too much was read into Fredette not playing Monday and that he will use tonight to get a good look at him in a game situation.

Fredette is being used at both guard spots. Outlaw is also learning both forward positions.

Malone intends to change up the lineups in every preseason game before possibly settling on a starting five for the sixth or seventh game to prepare for the regular season.
