LOS ANGELES - The Kings have lost their last five games against the Clippers at Staples Center.
Sacramento's last win here was March 21, 2010. The star of that game was Beno Udrih and DeMarcus Cousins was still in college.
And much like the first meeting of the season in Sacramento, the Kings are catching the Clippers after a loss.
The Clippers figure to be focused after dropping a game on the road to Oklahoma City.
The Kings have won their last two games, both coming against the Phoenix Suns. But this is a step up in competition and the Kings cannot afford the defensive lapse they had in the fourth quarter in Phoenix (allowing 44 points) and expect to beat a team that's a title contender.
*No changes to the projected starting lineup for either team. It will be Greivis Vasquez, Ben McLemore, Luc Mbah a Moute, Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins for the Kings.
Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, Jared Dudley, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan will start for the Clippers.
Prediction time: It's hard to expect the Kings to beat the Clippers at home, but they have a chance if they take care of the ball and limit fastbreak opportunities.
That's easier said than done.
Clippers 107, Kings 97
My record: 8-3
