Sacbee.com has redesigned its listing of database offerings and spun off a new section featuring The Sacramento Bee's investigative work.
At Data Center, www.sacbee.com/datacenter, you'll find an easy-to-navigate listing of databases on a variety of topics, from state worker salaries to area home prices and the latest crime statistics. You'll also find Data Surfer, a relaunched blog by Pete Basofin, the Bee's chief researcher, who culls the Internet to bring you the most salient statistics and studies related to today's news.
The Public Eye Investigations page, www.sacbee.com/investigations, highlights The Bee's many watchdog reports, and provides a place for you to pass along tips of government waste, scams or consumer abuse. (Read Editor Melanie Sill's recent column on the paper's investigative work here.)
The two sections (they were previously presented on a single page) were created to spotlight the distinct content of each page. Data Center allows you to comb through the volumes of statistical data we've been able make available to you. Investigations shows the result our investigative reporting, sometimes based on data, which sheds light the workings of institutions in our region -- and beyond.
