Looking for comments on sacbee sports section changes

It's been just over a year that underwent a wholesale redesign. But, we're still trying to make improvements.

This week, we've changed the layout of our Sports section and we're looking for your feedback. Take a look at the section at, and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Here are some of the changes so far:

• Top story headlines are now at the top of the page; not running down the left side.

• Links to our sports blogs -- Kings, Raiders, 49ers, preps -- are higher on the page, presented in a series of tabs.

• Another tab on the right side of the page provides links to team schedules, rosters, player stats and other related Web sites.

• The lower half of the page is sorted into categories for the teams mentioned above, as well as for columnists, golf coverage and the latest stories from the sports wire.

In the near future, we want to have a more prominent presence for the slide shows, videos and photo galleries that you'll now find at the bottom of the page. We're still working on that.

This is a test page of sorts for us. It the changes prove popular, we'll look to import them to other section fronts on, so please give us your feedback.

Free-lance photographer Steve Yeater will be near the finish shooting runners as they complete the marathon.
