The new, commenting system debuts Tuesday

As you can see from the countdown clock and "installation bar" at the top of our site, our redesign of debuts early Tuesday morning.

We are both excited and working feverishly to prepare for the switch to what we believe will be a better news site and community meeting place for the Sacramento region.

One of the changes will be a new commenting system that will allow you to recommend comments to others, message other users directly and post your own profile information.

As we install the new commenting system, the old one will be retired -- meaning all existing comments will be no longer be available on the site.  We will be starting with a clean slate.  You will still be able to flag comments for abuse, which sends them to our moderation cue, and any comment that is flagged by three different users will be hidden from view until it is deleted or restored by our moderators.
