One of The Bee's Sacramento Kings reporters, Sam Amick, got a new iPhone and he's vowed to put its video capability to the test on the Kings blog.

Sam also plans to launch a Facebook page on the Kings, so you'll be able to catch his coverage there, too.

Many of you have noticed that our commenting system is down. It's a problem plaguing The Bee and our fellow McClatchy papers throughout the nation.
Our Web hosting service and our social networking vendor are working to solve the problem.
While they're working on a fix, our forums, user profiles and user photo galleries also are off-line.
At this point, we can't tell you when the services will be restored.

Yes, the Mike Duvall sex scandal is getting plenty of attention on sacbee.com today.
So far, it's our No. 1 story, both yesterday and today.
But there is another feature beating it out for page views.
It's the mega-pictures taken from the Hubble telescope that we posted to our photo blog, The Frame. The Frame is generating about twice the page-view traffic today as the Duvall story.
We've started a new feature here at sacbee.com -- a weekly news quiz. It's just a fun way to test your knowledge of local events.

Some users of Internet Explorer may have noticed in the past few days that some of the pages on our site are "broken" -- that is, the text of stories is running across the full width of the screen and behind the ads. (Ironically, I encountered the problem again as I previewed this blog posting.)
In some cases, different content elements of the page are not aligning correctly.
We are trying to correct the problem as quickly as possible, and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue.
For those of you with multiple browsers, the problem is not occurring in Firefox or Safari.
The New York Times' Lens photography blog published a piece today on our former Bee colleague, John Trotter, who was beaten and left for dead while taking pictures for the paper in Oak Park in 1997.
After recovering at Sierra Gates, a brain-injury treatment center in Granite Bay, John returned to the facility to photograph patients in a series of photos titled "Burden of Memory." He now lives in New York City.

Actor Norm McDonald mentions The Bee in a largely unfunny segment on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien."
Though he says he's reading The Bee, McDonald is clearly holding a copy of the L.A. Daily News. The segment starts at 20:50 if you'd like to take a look.
