Fall foliage in the Sierras

UPDATE: The 10:30 a.m. session is full.  We have added a session at 2 p.m. on Saturday. You can still sign up on the fall leaves page linked below.

Are you ready for some fall leaves?

Not just any fall foliage, but the multicolored, take-your-breath-away beauty of the Eastern Sierra.

Whether you are into road trips to witness the season's changing color scheme, viewing photos of fall foliage over your computer screen or taking your own photos, we have something special planned for you.

On Saturday, former Bee employee and longtime photographer Dave Henry will be offering two workshops, at 9 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m., on best locations in the Sierra and photographic tips and techniques to get the best photos. To register for one of the workshops, which have limited seating, click here.

As an added incentive, we'll be inviting users to send us their fall foliage photos and running a contest to let users vote on their favorites. Next week we will announce what the prizes will be, and when the voting will start. On Monday afternoon, you can start posting your photos to

Whether you want to just look at fall leaves photos or plan your own trip to the best spots to be dazzled by nature's changing colors, you'll want to check out our fall leaves page online, which includes photo galleries, an interactive map and photographic tips from Henry.
