Access Sacramento invites the public to help celebrate its 25th year of operating a public-access television and radio station that broadcasts on local cable systems. The celebration will be noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Coloma Community Center, 4623 T St., and include food and live music. Access Sacramento will show off its new studio at Coloma and how Sacramento County residents can create their own public access TV and radio shows, as well as start neighborhood news blogs associated with Access Sacramento and The Bee.
Representatives of The Bee, FOX40, KCRA, Sacramento Press and other local news organizations will be on hand to discuss their efforts to encourage residents to contribute neighborhood news and have a voice in their communities. The Bee will host a discussion on Sacramento Connect, its network of regional blogs and news sites, including what The Bee looks for in partner blogs, how The Bee highlights partner content and drives traffic to partners, and how you can benefit as a reader or potential partner.
