Union seeks answers in Napa hospital employee's death

The California Association of Psychiatric Technicians has issued a reaction to the on-the-job death Saturday at Napa State Hospital of one of its members, Donna Gross. A patient at the facility has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

CAPT issued this statement, which includes:

Napa Psych Tech Brad Leggs, Napa Chapter president and CAPT secretary-treasurer, will be meeting with hospital administration to find out more information and to demand answers to our safety concerns, such as staffing reductions and minimal grounds presence at the facility. He has been speaking to reporters on behalf of devastated CAPT members. "Donna was a real patient advocate and a true professional in her field," Leggs said. "It shouldn't take her death or anyone else's to make change happen."
