Chronicling civil-service life for California state workers

Sign up for State Worker news alerts

A few State Worker blog users have asked about the new "Sign up for The State Worker News Alerts" box that started showing up at the top of the homepage last week.

Here's how it works: If you enter an email address, The Bee will notify you via that account when news of particular significance to state workers breaks. We won't clog your inbox with a notice every time we post an item to the blog, and we certainly won't pass on your information to spammers, advertisers or any one else.

Several other sacbee.com blogs and news departments offer email alerts and newsletter subscriptions. You can check them out here. (You'll be asked for your email address to see the menu, but you're not committing to anything unless you choose a alert or newsletter to receive.)

So if you'd like a quick prompt when the big stuff happens, sign up and literally be among the first to know when news happens that affects state workers.

On October 14, The Sacramento Bee will temporarily remove commenting from sacbee.com. While we design the upgrade, we encourage you to tell us what you like and don't like about commenting on sacbee.com and other websites. We've heard from hundreds of you already and we're listening. Please continue to add your thoughts and questions here. We also encourage you to write Letters to the Editor on this and other topics.
