Several months ago, I wrote about skin-care product containers and how, if possible, it's best to buy products that come in pump containers rather than jars to avoid transmitting bacteria to the product via your hands and also exposure to the air.
Well, Laura DuPriest, who has been a longtime local fixture as a hair stylist and beauty adviser, took those words to heart and revamped four of her most popular skin-care products' packaging, and they're really flying off the shelves.
"I saw that story about jars and thought I could come up with a pump that not only would reduce the risk of bacteria getting into the product but that also would release just the right amount of product," DuPriest says, "which cuts down on overuse."
The new packaging is for: Day Control moisturizer for oily skin ($16), Day Moist moisturizer for normal to dry skin ($19.95), Overnight Success glycolic treatment with aloe vera for acne-prone skin ($35), and Night Magic glycolic treatment with a moisturizing base for dry skin ($35).
DuPriest and her staff are about to celebrate one year in their new digs in Roseville, a block north of Douglas Boulevard at 8150 Sierra College Blvd., Suite 190. For more information: (916) 960-2468 or visit www.lauradupriest.com.
