A Roseville shopping center is hosting an array of events and offers in an effort to raise money for a local childrens cancer charity.
This is the second year that Fountains at Roseville has teamed with the Keaton Raphael Memorial to raise awareness and funding for childhood cancer research and support families whose children are undergoing cancer treatment. The events, which kick off Friday, also are in honor of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a Fountains news release states.
The memorial launched in 1998 by Roseville residents Robyn and Kyle Raphael, whose 5-year-old son, Keaton, died following a nine-month battle with neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nervous system.
Events and ways to donate include:
• Whole Foods Market at Fountains will donate a nickel for every bag brought in during a grocery purchase throughout September and October. Customers can pick Keaton Raphael Memorial as their charity of choice, the release states.
• Create a HOPE bracelet at the Keaton Raphael Memorial information booth for a donation from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday during the Fountains' First Friday event.
• Boudin Bakery is donating a percentage of dine-in sales from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 9 to the charity. No flyer required, the release states.
• The Counter will donate 10 percent of proceeds from sales on Sept. 14 to the Keaton Raphael Memorial when guests mention the fundraiser.
• Fountains at Roseville is donating all coins from the main show fountain during September and also is accepting donations at Guest Services on Friday and during concert night events through Sept. 11. For every donation made, participants can enter to win a $50 Fountains gift card.
Fountains' officials will present Keaton Raphael Memorial with a check for the donations and coins on Oct. 2 during the final summer concert.
