A trio of high-profile talents from very different backgrounds are in town this week, and they just happen to have written books.
Note that these are only book signings, so there will be no author presentations or question-and-answer sessions.
Caution: Expect crowds.
Olympic short-track speed-skating champion Apolo Ohno will appear at 4 today for one hour; 2030 Douglas Blvd., Roseville (916) 784-1088. His memoir/self-help book is "Zero Regrets: Be Greater Than Yesterday" (Atria, $26, 304 pages).
Singer-songwriter-actor Rick Springfield will greet fans at 7 tonight and will stay until all books are signed. Line up at 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento; (916) 564-0168. His memoir is "Late, Late at Night" (Touchstone, $26, 336 pages). Please do not bring any memorabilia to the event for him to sign.
Former Arkansas governor, presidential candidate and talk-show host Mike Huckabee will sign at 8 p.m. Thursday for one hour. See him at 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento; (916) 564-0168. His two books are "A Simple Christmas" (Sentinel, $22.95, 240 pages) and a new children's book, "Can't Wait Till Christmas" (Putnam, $17.99, 32 pages).
