Summer's finally here, and that means months of tasty music from top acts at two of the most popular out-of-town venues for Sacramentans.
The 10th annual Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series kicks off at 8 p.m. June 18 with jazz pianist-vocalist Diana Krall, teamed with legendary jazz-blues pianist and singer Mose Allison. Tickets are $59.50 to $125 at www.ticketmaster.com and www.apeconcerts.com. For the complete list of upcoming concerts, visit www.harveystahoe.com.
The concert series is held in Harveys Outdoor Arena in Stateline, Nev., at South Lake Tahoe.
"Judging by our attendance at last year's series, and this season's eclectic lineup of performers, we're looking forward to hosting a wide variety of music-lovers from across the country," said John Packer, entertainment and public-relations director for Harrah's and Harveys resort-casinos.
Meanwhile, as part of Bill Harrah's Centennial Birthday Celebration, Harrah's Reno has launched its Plaza Summer Concert Series.
Tribute bands will take the stage every Saturday night through September. Included will be Cream of Clapton, Unauthorized Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Nicks. Tickets will be sold at the door; the $10 entry fee includes two drinks of your choice and a raffle. For the complete program, go to www.harrahsreno.com.
