Classical Revolution has now found a place to call home.
The midtown cafe, clothing shop and gallery Bows & Arrows has invited Classical Revolution Sacramento to perform every 2nd Thursday at 8 p.m., starting this October.
Hatched six years ago in San Francisco's Mission District at a small bar called Revolution Cafe, the Classical Revolution movement brings classical music to alternative venues like cafes and bars. It has spread to 30 active chapters in cities around the United States, Canada and Europe.
Sacramento joined that roster earlier this year when the first Classical Revolution concert was held in a courtyard in Old Sacramento with a subsequent performance weeks later at midtown's Luna's Cafe. Both concerts saw a packed house.
At Bows and Arrows this October the Classical Revolution concert will be led by vocalist and upright bass player Casey Lipka. The November show will be led by cellist Jia-mo Chen.
The next Classical Revolution, however, is scheduled to take place next on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at Inisight Coffee Roasters, and will be curated by flutist Cathie Apple.
